Position Overview

The Digital Business Development Assistant is a key role in supporting the Digital Business Development team, with business stakeholders to support the operational and trading requirements for Ralph Lauren’s European relationship with Farfetch and other marketplace service vendors.

The role supports all aspects of marketplace business operations and business teams content, RL EMEA Merchandising, RL wholesale marketing, BI analytics and RL finance.

He/she will be partnering with the Business Development team to drive and support business operations for current marketplaces and supporting in future development of the Ralph Lauren Ecommerce platform. This supports the overall business development on each platform, maximizing RL’s success rates in securing order conversion, supporting brand perception, elevating the brands visibility, and ultimately supporting business growth and positioning objectives.

This role requires some eCommerce platform understanding, enthusiasm to learn in a fast pasted environment, clearly disciplined approach to task and time management and organization.

Objectives

  • Support best practice, including accurate and timely data flows between Ralph Lauren and partners.
  • Support sustainable profitable revenue growth, though maximizing pre season data / asset readiness and timely assortment finalisation.
  • Support exploration of new business opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting all aspects of marketplace business operations
  • Liaising with internal business stakeholders to support wider business requirements
  • Assisting in product master data creation
    • Organizing and managing photography sample process for physical and virtual production
    • Generating reports to support the mater data process
  • Support in monitoring customer satisfaction and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of eCommerce experiences. Contribute to the analysis of results and identify areas for improvement. Assisting with resolving order and return issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Liaising with store staff and marketplaces to resolve any customer order issues
  • Tracking weekly sales reporting for marketplaces, and support internal communications on marketplace performance and initiatives.
  • Competitor and market trend analysis; stay updated on changing consumer trends in the digital retail space and contribute ideas for enhancing eCommerce experiences. Assist in researching and analyzing feasibility and potential business impact.
  • Assist cross-functional teams throughout marketplace business lifecycle.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong organisation skills and ability to self-motivate and prioritise workload.
  • Willing to take initiative, and have opportunity for accountability.
  • Passionate about marketplaces and ecommerce in general.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment, in a fast growing business sector.
  • Be enthusiastic to learn new skills and processes, in a hybrid of structured training and learning by doing.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel, formulas and setting up reports.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner in writing and spoken English.
  • Prior knowledge of any marketplace data integration tools an advantage.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree not essential if experience can be proven in a numerate, detail driven commercial working environment, gained in an ecommerce business.
  • Previous work experience required minimum one year.
  • Fashion / Retail experience is valuable.
