About The Role

RAC have an amazing new opportunity for a new Head of Data Privacy to manage our dynamic, fast paced Data Protection Team and serve as Group Data Protections Officer. This is a key strategic role for the RAC as we continue to evolve our digital and data strategy, with opportunities to play a major part in how we shape our plans for the future.

The role sits within our Governance, Risk & Compliance division which prides itself on providing excellent technical advice and commercial solutions – we like to operate alongside the business, taking a “hands-on” partnering approach.

We are a collegiate, sociable and fun-loving team, passionate about getting the right results for our business, customers and colleagues.

You will be an experienced data protection practitioner, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience at Head of level or equivalent. Evidence of strong communication skills managing senior stake holders advising on and helping to shape RAC’s digital and data strategy.

This is a hybrid role working 2 days a week in the office based from either of our Bescot or Bradley Stoke locations.

  • Keeping senior management up to date with new developments and gaps in the Group’s compliance programmes in relation to data protection.
  • Reviewing and advising on Data Protection Impact Assessment.
  • Maintaining our records of data processing.
  • Liaising with suppliers and our partner organisations regarding Data Protection compliance and enquiries.
  • Overseeing RAC’s handling of GDPR requests.
