Our bespoke software solutions have produced Entrée Visitor and Contractor Management, which is directing the company into the exciting area of being a Software Solutions Provider.

Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship.

The Role:

  • You will travel to our clients’ sites to maintain servers, workstations, peripherals, networks, and records. You will have to demonstrate initiative by being proactive in the development of the client’s IT infrastructure and providing appropriate and cost-effective guidance.
  • You must be able to communicate with users and management, of varying degrees of technical understanding. An ability to explain yourself in lay terms is a huge advantage.
  • You must have the ability to pick up skills and familiarise yourself with software, hardware, and technology in general. Stay abreast of the latest technologies that you would see be advantageous to the company and our clients.

You must have the ability to work under your initiative, and have great time management and organizational skills.

When you are not in the field, you will answer and resolve helpdesk calls.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations
  • Install, configure, and maintain peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners, projector, cameras, etc.)
  • Maintain servers
  • Check, maintain and test backup solutions
  • Check, maintain and update anti-virus solutions
  • Monitoring event logs
  • Monitor network activity
  • Set up, maintain, and remove user network accounts where appropriate
  • Carry out routine network maintenance tasks
  • Be familiar with the network infrastructure (cable and patch panels, hubs, switches and routers)
  • Maintain switches, hubs, routers, and other network devices
  • Install, configure, and maintain necessary software
  • Provide relevant and cost-effective advice
  • Maintain cordial relationships with customer site liaison and the customers’ users
  • Liaise with third party suppliers used by the customer
  • Follow written or verbal instruction from third party suppliers
  • Assist in the maintenance of records (e.g., inventory, support requests, etc.)
  • Maintain company documentation in relation to customer site

And any other duties as requested.

Personal requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and own transport [as travelling is key]
  • Prepared to travel between sites (Mostly in Birmingham)
  • Familiar with Servers i.e. 2008, 2012 or 2016, 2019, 2022 (desirable not required)
  • Familiar with windows 7,8,10, or 11 (desirable not required)
  • Confident and be able to deal with different types of people
  • Be able to clear a DBS check (required)
  • Be able to work on their own initiative
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
  • Maintain focus under high pressure situations
  • Have high quality inter-personal skills
  • Have sensitivity to the different levels of expertise amongst client users
  • Keep abreast of new developments in software and hardware
  • An ability for self-directed learning

Salary:
The salary will be between 11k and 15k, which will be negotiable, dependant on experience

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects:
90% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
