Technician: Biology & Chemistry

Protocol is working closely with an FE college based in Leicestershire to help recruit for a seasoned Technician. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to support the academic team with the day to day running of the laboratories, prepare and demonstrate experiments and show safe practice with specialist equipment. The successful candidate will be working alongside full-time students studying on various modules within the curriculum at Levels 1-3. The institution is committed to providing a broad range of academic courses and the department is looking for passionate and motivated people to join the team.

The role:

• Full-time/Sessional role, 37hrs per week, Monday - Friday.
• Support the academic team with all aspects of running college facilities.
• Prepare and demonstrate practical experiments with a diligent attention to Health & Safety.
• To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.
• Ensuring a high standard of achievement through engaging and interactive sessions.
• Identifying and analysing student needs.

The person:

We are therefore seeking a passionate individual with a background in Biology or Chemistry or a related academic subject.

Have you got what it takes?

• An academic qualification in a relevant subject.
• Proven success in an educational establishment.
• GCSE or equivalent Maths & English.
• A positive and supportive attitude to student learning and experience.
