Position Overview & Specifications

ProAmpac London is an award winning, global market leader in food-to-go packaging. It combines technical, creative and commercial expertise to design and manufacture revolutionary food packaging. Most of the UK supermarkets and high street coffee shops feature amongst ProAmpac London’s impressive client list. ProAmpac is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio with several other locations across the USA. The London office based in Wimbledon is home to the design and technical centre with manufacturing capabilities for Europe located in Ireland. Due to continued growth, the Company is seeking a Junior Artworker to join the London team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Pre-Production and the Senior Artworker, you will be responsible for the development and specification of a wide range of packaging created by the internal design team.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform pre-flight checks on artwork files before approving for production use
  • Retrieve customer artwork & assets via online portals & FTP sites, as well as manage the asset library
  • Prepare artwork for plate making to be produced at our manufacturing site
  • Create printing plate layouts for production whilst adhering to technical specifications and requirements
  • Build and amend artwork files, mainly using Illustrator but also InDesign
  • Originate designs for stock products and also for various print / material trials
  • Generate artwork cutter guides to a standardised layout and ensure cutter library is maintained
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure artwork is processed to a high standard and on time
  • Design branded mock-ups to be produced as physical samples
  • Undertake photography of branded samples for sales / marketing use

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required/Desired:

  • Qualification in a Graphic Design related course would desirable but not essential
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Artworker, preferably within the packaging industry
  • Proven experience of generating print ready artwork to a high standard
  • Able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, and InDesign, preferably advanced use of Illustrator
  • Should have a general understanding of Flexographic printing and large format print production
  • Any experience working in the FMCG industry specifically the food and beverage market desirable
  • An ability to show creative flair on projects when required
  • An appreciation and general understanding of Packaging Design would be beneficial

  • Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Internet etc
  • Able to operate in fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and take pride in the quality of work completed
  • Very strong organisational skills – organised, flexible, dependable, detail orientated
  • Excellent communication skills (including good email writing)
  • Must be diplomatic, professional and able to handle confidential information
  • Friendly, outgoing, professional and polite
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision, be pro-active and take initiative

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £25,000.00 per year
