Driver Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Driver to join our small team in Sutton Coldfield. We are looking for a 7.5tonne Driver who is hard-working, conscientious and passionate about contributing towards the smooth and professional delivery of products to customers at their building sites.

Driver Responsibilities Include:

· Conduct full inspection of vehicle

· Fuelling Vehicles

· Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle

· Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times

· Ensure that all delivery procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer procedures

· Ensure all Company documentation and equipment is returned to the transport office/depot daily

· Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within Company and legal frameworks

· Report vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented

· Comply with Driver’s regulations & Working Time Directive in line with the current legislation and Company procedures

· Ensure the Digital Driver Card is carried at all times, that the card is downloaded according to current legislation/regulations

· Attend a driver debrief at the end of each shift and provide information relating to shift

· Able to portray a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

· Assisting with Warehouse duties when required, such assisting with loading vehicles, picking and packing, keeping warehouse/yard clean and tidy, assisting with stock take

· In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided.

Driver Qualities Needed:

· Must hold a valid, Class C1 driving licence

· Must have at least 1 year of 7.5 tonne driving experience

· Hold a valid Digital Tachograph card with recent activity

· Be CPC qualified

· Be flexible to work possible early starts and assist in the warehouse

· Have multi-drop driving experience

· Physically fit to perform manual tasks as required

· Organised and good attention to detail

· Self-motivated

· Confident and able to use own initiative when needed

· Excellent time keeping skills

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
