Position Overview & Specifications

** NEW SERVICE** CAMHS in Schools Team in STOCKPORT

Stockport is the next borough to implement the new CAMHS in Schools Team - known as Mental Health Support Teams. MHST's support children in early intervention and assist education provisions with the principles of a whole school or college approach, thus promoting mental health and wellbeing for all.

We are looking for you to join our Stockport CAMHS in schools team as aCAMHS MHST Band 7 with a qualification in CBT.

We are looking for enthusiastic dynamic motivated individuals who are passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives in Stockport.

Successful candidates will be employed on a full-time basis based within Pennine Care, and will play a key role as members of theMental Health
Support Team, who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

This service will help to reduce disadvantage by intervening early. As part of a new team you will be empowered to shape and build the service. You will help build and sustain working relationships, both with your colleagues and the wider network.

Above all we have a desire to develop a service where we can nurture and support staff to have a long term career in child mental health.

Undertake appropriate mental health assessment of children and young people referred to service and provide a range of appropriate, evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need.

The post holder will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person. This post will supervise the team in schools as appropriate and provide evidence based supervision.

This post holder will work in partnership with the Operational Manager and other Operational Leads, and will further develop the partnership working that is currently taking place between education, the local authority and the ICB

You will also support staff in schools and colleges to help the whole system develop an understanding of how to work together to improve health and mental wellbeing.
