What we’re looking for:

We are looking for people who are positive, kind, caring and focused on encouraging choice, self-worth and supporting our customers to get out and about enjoying some new experiences in the local community. We are recruiting a full time, permanent Support Worker to our Registered Care Home based in Thurrock Essex. You will be supporting people who have learning and physical disabilities who will depend on you to provide a high standard of support to meet their individual needs.

Our Customers have lived in our service for many years, they are all individual and deserve to have a person centred approach to their support, we need people who impact and inject their lives with joy and happiness.

If this sounds like you, this role is perfect for you! Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Care Support Worker on a Permanent basis at our Gallimore Lodge service in Grays.


A bit about the role:

As a Care Support Worker you will assist people to live well, be independent and connected to their own community . Some of the key results for the role include:

  • Provideing social, practical and emotional support to customers so that the individual supported can achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

  • Where required support people with all activities of daily living including providing personal care in a way the respects their dignity.

  • Participate actively in personalised support planning, ensuing that the person we support has maximum choice and control in their life.

  • Support individuals to pursue hobbies and leisure activities at home and in their community.

  • Bring ideas and enthusiasm to your role, search out new and innovative opportunities with the people you support.

  • Protect the safety of the people you are supporting, following all management plans consistently including those relating to health, diet, medication, finances and behaviour.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible enough to work across a 24/7 rota (example of shifts 07.00-14.30, 14.30-22.00 and 22.00-07.00). Driving is not essential however is an added attribute as our customers have their means of transport to access the community.

Please note this role involves personal care (including personal cleaning, supporting to have meals and manual handling).
