Delivery Driver - Wholesale Plant Nursery

Pacific Nurseries is California’s oldest wholesale nursery that has been supplying the greater Bay Area’s landscape professionals with high quality plant material for over 150 years. As both a producer and broker of ornamental plants, we deal with a wide variety of material ranging from flats of ground cover to 48” box trees, and everything in between. Located in the South San Francisco region, we service local landscape professionals by fulfilling orders for delivery and will call pick up, as well as allowing customers to browse our inventory and select material of their choosing. We are passionate about delivering a superb product with quality service unmatched throughout the Bay Area and are currently looking to expand our dynamic team of knowledgeable professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, and load delivery trucks
• Communicate with office & dispatcher from the field
• Deliver, unload, and pick up materials to job sites throughout the Bay Area
• Safely drive & operate delivery vehicle at all times
• Use of handheld devices/app technology for routing & customer delivery information

• Must be comfortable driving and working in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Follow all route schedules and apply problem solving skills
• Interact with client at delivery destinations
• Secondary responsibilities when needed or when other responsibilities are finished can include but aren’t limited to:
• Receive deliveries and unload trucks
• Nursery organization work, labeling plant material, yard maintenance, stocking plants
• Pulling and assembling orders
• Assisting the production team with duties including planting and moving material

Requirements

• 1 year of verifiable driving experience within the last 3 years
• Valid Class C driver’s license
• Legal status for employment in the USA
• Clean driving record
• Clean criminal record & ability to pass drug test
• Ability to clear a 10-year DOT check
• Conversational English (bilingual in Spanish a plus)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a focused manner
• Professional demeanor
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Communication skills, written & verbal
• Knowledge of the greater San Francisco Bay Area geography
• Insurable by our insurance provider (must pass insurance verification to be hired)
• Experience in driving vehicle rated 20,000-pound gross vehicle weight or greater

Job Type

• Full-time

Schedule

• 8 Hour day shift + overtime
• Monday to Friday, optional non-driving work on Saturday
