Graduate Design Technician

Origin Global is a leading manufacturer of bespoke Aluminium Bi-folding Doors and Windows where our products combine high-grade aluminium with precision engineering to create functional products which are design to last.

We are looking to recruit two Design Technician Graduates to join our innovative R&D team where we will provide comprehensive training and shadowing opportunities to work with various members within the department. We will further develop the successful candidate's skillsets and enable them to thrive within a creative and forward-thinking environment where our intuitive and innovative designs set us apart from our competitors.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Utilising computer aided drafting skills and knowledge for production of engineering documents
• Acting as technical support and liaison for Sales and Customer Service teams
• Providing support for wider Development team
• Provide support with technical information to other departments as required
• Continuous learning and staying up to date with all Origin's product and manufacturing information
• Set up and produce drawings which are dimensionally accurate using a relevant 2D CAD Software
• Produce and check a variety of accurate technical drawings for internal and external customers including manufacturing drawings
• Manage, produce and organise customer drawings for UK and USA
• Prioritise workloads to coincide with the urgency of the job
• Feedback customer issues to the R&D team

Knowledge/ Experience

• Good understanding of 2D and 3D CAD packages, preferably Solidworks and Draftsight
• Knowledge of fabrication and assembly techniques
• Good knowledge of materials

• Highly self-motivated, with a willingness to work both remotely and from the office
• Professional in your manner of work, organised and well-presented in l areas
• An open mind with an aptitude for learning new systems, tools, products and ways of working

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent relevant subject
