Position Overview & Specifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic, innovative Project Manager to join the Office Ecommerce Project team.

At Office, we are constantly improving our customer’s digital experience, striving to offer a best in class digital experience.

Being the Office Digital project manager, you will be central to ensuring that projects are scoped, briefed and delivered on time and on budget.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of new initiatives across the Office Online and Digital portfolio, including web, apps, mobile & in store ordering.

The DPM acts as the interface with IT, technology partners and internal departments.

Communicates and documents all requirements ensuring effective implementation.

Purpose of Role

The Ecommerce Project Team currently manages multiple projects at any one time.

The Project Portfolio is diverse with multiple concurrent Software Development, e-commerce and Infrastructure projects and programmes.

Current projects due for delivery in the next six months include new Apps, fit analytics solutions and website redesigns.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of new initiatives across the Office Online and Digital portfolio, including web, apps, mobile & in store ordering.

The DPM is responsible for delivering full life-cycle Ecommerce projects, whilst ensuring the highest standards of best practice and governance.

Role Specific

  • Successful planning and delivery of full life-cycle ecommerce projects within an e-commerce environment
  • Manage day to day site performance and issue escalation
  • Creating detailed requirements documents for all projects
  • Manage internal and external resources: Including external development & technical resources, internal testing resource
  • 3rd Party supplier management, ensuring successful delivery and integration of 3rd party systems.
  • Controlling Project Initiation and Service Introduction
  • Adhering to the financial project budget
  • Leveraging appropriate best practice project management techniques
  • Managing the delivery of the change to meet business needs
  • Managing stakeholders to achieve business buy-in
  • Daily, weekly, monthly updates of on flight projects and initiatives that in scoping and discovery.

  • Contribute to a safe working environment by being aware of, and adhering to, legislative and health and safety requirements of the workplace

Requirements

  • A demonstrable full life-cycle Project delivery background with a portfolio of Ecommerce /digital projects in a retail environment
  • Personally managed several significant projects successfully simultaneously involving a large amount of systems, business and technical changes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / work streams simultaneously
  • Ability to work on cross-functional multi-tasked projects, managing internal and external relationships
  • Knowledge of project management processes and techniques from a varied background
  • Intermediate knowledge of sources of project complexity
  • Relevant project management qualifications or training ideally in Prince2 and AGILE methodologies
  • Supplier management:- Management of 3rd parties / delivery of work to deadline
  • Good relationship building skills with key personnel in all areas of the business and external companies
  • Ability to document process and solutions in a clear manner
  • Ability to communicate updates to a wide variety of people clearly in person and in writing
  • Vast retail knowledge - of the sector and the processes behind successful businesses
  • Knowledge of retail systems (CRM, POS, payment processing and ERP) would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of Jira & SAP beneficial
