About the role

As our Supervisor, you will oversee our warehouse, supply chain and transport functions out of the Luton depot. This is the ideal role for a hands on supervicsor with experience of fast-moving items into retail.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing, pick efficiency, pick accuracy, and orders are dispatched and loaded in full. The role requires you to lead by example with focus on performance management and development of the depot team, ensuring it is safe, effective, and efficient. You will lead and oversee the team in achieving operational KPI’s, targets and objectives.

A strong leader is required to manage compliance of core processes, training, support, motivation, and performance management of the team is critical in delivering success.

Critical Success Factors

  • Lead, manage and development of Warehouse and Transport Teams
  • Achieve Service Level Targets in the Luton Depot
  • Compliance of Warehouse Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Depot, Equipment and Security upkeep compliance
  • Day to day Transport and Fleet supervision
  • Depot Health & Safety compliance and premises management
  • ** Working with the Depot Manager and National Management Team, setting up of the NEW Luton Depot from start to finish

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day operations of the warehouse and transport functions.
  • Stock management, always ensuring availability and accuracy, escalating any supply issues.
  • Supervision of the warehouse and transport team and the KPI's for the warehouse operatives and fulfilment drivers.
  • Support Depot Manager on recruitment, onboarding and developing the team.
  • Suggesting and implementing initiatives to reduce company costs and increase employee productivity
  • Reporting of all non-compliance and any discrepancies identified in the warehouse management system, warehouse and supply chain processes and data.
  • Update a suite of Scorecards, and working with the management team to review and analyse the data to identify trends, issues, and challenges, creating workable solutions that will drive efficiencies
  • Overseeing compliance with the company’s warehousing and transport policies and processes and ensuring they are followed by all
  • Ensuring any SLAs and internal deadlines are met, and tasks completed by the depot team
  • Complete ad-hoc warehousing and transport projects

Qualifications & experience

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Management Experience of at least 5 years
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse processes, procedure and policies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Self-starter who can work independently and independent-minded
  • Good IT skills and experience of Inventory Systems/WMS
  • Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback

Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and any other hours required to fulfil the role to the required high standards.

Salary: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
