An opportunity has arisen to be part of the Intensive Home Treatment Team as a support worker working in the Newark and Sherwood locality. The service is for older adults with acute mental health needs and is delivered in their own homes, with a focus on reducing the need for hospital admissions. You will contribute to assessments and interventions, undertaking nursing, therapy and social activities as delegated by the relevant profession. You will frequently work without direct supervision in the community and be required to work in a flexible and holistic way in order to respond to this client group’s needs.
The Intensive Home Treatment Team operates 08:00 to 20:00 seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The shift patterns are 08:00 - 16:00, 12:00 - 20:00 or 08:00 - 20:00.

You must have evidence of a good basic education and basic IT skills. You will require good verbal and written communication skills and previous experience of working in a caring environment and working as part of a team. Some knowledge of the mental and physical problems associated with older people and the risks associated with community working are required. You will need to have good prioritization skills and be able to recognize your own limitations. Recent significant experience of caring for older adults with mental health needs is very desirable for this post.
A driving licence is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of Agenda for Change Band 3. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
