Position Overview & Specifications

Next Generation Group (Scaffolding & Externals) is a growing business in Essex, UK and we are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our team. This role will be mainly geared toward our scaffold division, completing all scaffold inspections, site audits, preparing RAMS, and completing site audits most of the time. The remaining time will be aiding in health & safety matters in the other companies where needed.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective safety policies and procedures within the company, with the chance to progress in managing an H&S team within the company as we grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Audits
  • Scaffold Inspections
  • Improve & maintain company health & safety standards across the group
  • Develop & write site specific RAMS, helping with the implementation of this on site
  • Prepare site safety files and ensure all documentation is kept up to date
  • Tool Box Talks
  • Supervise high-risk activities
  • Respond to emergency situations and accidents, if required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction or scaffolding industry.
  • Good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards, such as HSE guidelines and CDM regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Good organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and using an Ipad

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Scaffolding Inspections card (ideally advanced, if not training can be provided)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
