Job Description
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is the principal adviser to Welsh Government on issues relating to the environment and its natural resources. We aim to underpin our advice and actions with robust evidence. In addition to making use of evidence generated by others, NRW itself gathers evidence, notably through the environmental monitoring we carry out.
Monitoring Analysis Team was formed to make more use of the data we collect through our monitoring programmes as well as to support the use of evidence from remote sensing. You will work as part of an enthusiastic team that includes environmental data analysts, data managers and remote sensing specialists. This is a good opportunity to contribute to an expanding and innovative area of NRW’s work.
We are looking for someone to support our data analytical activities. Working with colleagues in the team and relevant subject matter experts, you will help develop and carry out analysis and interactive data visualisation, mainly using R but also other software such as PowerBI and FME.
Knowledge and experience of the following:
You will have strong analytical skills that enable you to process, analyse and interpret large amounts of technical information.
You will have good problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract and present key information to a range of audiences in both written and oral forms.
You will have experience of working in a programme and project management environment.
You will be a good communicator
