Position Overview & Specifications
Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time legal assistant to join the employment team of our well-established law firm based in Leeds City Centre.
Previous experience of working in a law firm would be a distinct advantage, as would working on a help desk/advice line.
We are particularly interested in applications from confident self-starters who are not afraid to hit the ground running. If you have completed and passed the Legal Practice course this would also be a distinct advantage.
The duties will include but are not limited to:
- taking initial instructions from clients
- to attend conferences with Counsel/Court/Tribunal/Inquest and represent the firm and client as required;
- opening new matter files
- managing files
- drafting correspondence and legal documents
- reading legal documents/correspondence and drafting/sending out correspondence on behalf of fee earners
- dealing with telephone enquiries
- assisting on the help desk, as and when required
- filing, printing, photocopying and any other ad hoc jobs to assist fee earners
Qualifications
The candidate will ideally:
- hold a law degree
- have undertaken and passed the Legal Practice Course

- excellent telephone manner
- a flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £17,290.00 per year
