Position Overview & Specifications
- Co-ordinate with Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering Teams and other Production Supervisors to schedule production and NPI work so that achievable deadlines are set and can be met.
- Plan the activities of the team(s) in line with production requirements.
- Be active in any continual improvement processes such as CIT meetings, project teams or design review meetings to support yield, quality, productivity and financial gain, taking a lead role where appropriate.
- Ensure that company policies are adhered to and implemented at all levels.
- Carry out regular individual one to one meetings and annual performance reviews which integrate the core values of our business, support strategic requirements.
- Be responsible for identifying, recording the training needs of other manufacturing operating staff in the use of new processes, equipment and materials for manufacturing.
- Interview and recruit new personnel when required
- Be responsible for the immediate monitoring/coaching and review of all subordinates performance, timekeeping, sickness and holidays.
- Meet deadlines, prepare reports and present at meetings.
- Have full knowledge and understand the product quality standards relevant to the work area and ensure that all work produced conforms to these
- Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, applying judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations and helping to identify solutions to non standard tasks and queries.
- Have strong communication skills and be able to make recommendations and share knowledge and experience with others, providing guidance and support where required.
- Be able to prioritise and organise their own work to deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Work in a clean room environment.
- Be able to ensure when carrying out any job function that it is done in accordance with all Health & Safety rules and regulations, such as, Risk Assessments, COSHH, VDU assessments; Workplace Regulations, Manual Handling, Electrical Safety at Work, etc.
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude and be prepared to work in any department within the BU on a variety of shift patterns where skills and business needs dictate.
- Fully understand the process flow of product through manufacturing.
- To have an understanding of and be able to apply TQM techniques including Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), 5S, Lean Manufacturing, JIT and Kanban.
- Be confident in the use of computers – specifically Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word packages would be desirable, alongside relevant in-house software in use by the business (for example AX).
