Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside John Doe of Diss in their search for an enthusiastic and experienced Café Cook to join their team. The Café is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, and we are looking for a capable and passionate cook who can help maintain John Doe’s reputation for delicious food and excellent service.

The working hours can be on a full time or part time basis. Each will include some weekend shifts, with core full time hours of 7:30am – 3:30pm for 5 days per week, with rotation of Saturday & Sundays. Pay is £11.50 per hour.

Working with a lovely kitchen team, responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including brunch items, sandwiches, light lunches, soups, salads, and desserts

• Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standard of quality and presentation

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and work area and assist with general kitchen duties

• Assist with menu planning and occasional recipe development

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

What you’ll need:

• Previous experience working as a cook in a café, restaurant or pub setting

• Excellent communication and organisational skills with a team spirit

• The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• A willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, and weekends (but NO evenings!)

• A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, with Level 2 Food Hygiene a must
