Lochwynd Limited are currently looking for Squad Leaders / Civils Operatives / Groundworkers to join our team operating from our Warrington Depot.

As a Civils Squad Leader you will be ensure the completion of civil works to client specifications and conduct works in accordance with Lochwynd Limited policies and procedures to meet client specifications. Civils Operatives / Driver working in a squad with Squad Leaders.

You will conduct works under the direction of the Operations Manager and ensure the safe and correct usage of plant which includes:

• Daily Maintenance checks of Plant/Equipment
• Excavation activities including the use of CAT & Genny and specialised machinery.
• Safe and correct use of designated plant and equipment such as (not exhaustive list): Angle Grinder, Measuring Wheel, Hydraulic Breaker, Stihl Saw, Floor saw, Compressor Roller, Rammer, Vibrating Plate.
• Safe and correct installation of Duct, Chambers, Kerbs, Slabs, Poles, T-Poles, Guardrail, Street Furniture/Cabinets Modular Handrail to specification.
• Safe and correct laying of bituminous and granolithic material in addition to compaction.
• Safe and correct setting up t/m Temporary Signals to 40mph (CH8).
• Safe and correct setting up t/m Signing & Coning to 40mph (CH8).
• Interpretation & Comprehension of Drawings / Specifications / Job Pack.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, drawings and set up site as per job pack requirements.
• Accurate Recording of Site Works, Materials & Plant (Daily Worksheet) as per job requirements.
• Control of Staff & production on-site and ensuring all standards, specifications and qualities adhered to.
• Control of Any Sub-Contractors On-Site, and ensuring they meet the standards and qualities the company expect.
• Any other duties as required.

Works will be predominantly in the Manchester/Lancashire area with some working away from home in London area.

Candidates should possess some of the key skills below and have previous experience working within the Civil Engineering industry:

• Groundworks experience.
• General Civil Engineering experience.
• CSCS/ECS Touch screen Test Certificate/Card.
• NRASWA Operative/Supervisor Card.
• Abrasive Wheels.
• Emergency First Aid at Work

• Civil engineering: 1 year (preferred)

• Full Valid & Clean UK Driving Licence (preferred)

• NRASWA Operative Card (preferred)
