FREELANCE SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO EDITOR

We are an award winning digital content agency and media network on the lookout for a Freelance Video Editor to join our freelance community.

All Freelance Video Editor assignments require you to edit pre-existing content (no original content creation) for upload onto social media channels. The tasks within an edit project can vary, however they typically involve editing existing third party video content, creating relevant and effective metadata, producing quality video thumbnails, and handling the upload of videos to social media platforms according to best practices.

TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Tasks can vary from project to project but can include all or some of the following:

• Working independently to edit pre-existing video content to the deadlines set.

• Creating video edits from existing long form content for social media platforms (eg. TV programmes or sports content) into content for release on social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and any other platform as required from time to time)

• Creating video thumbnails (ie. composite images on Photoshop according to platform best practices)

• Creation of relevant and engaging video metadata including titles, thumbnails, descriptions and tags

• Creating captions when required

• Uploading videos to Little Dot Studios as per the delivery schedule set in the contract

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

• Excellent and demonstrable experience at video editing using Adobe Creative Suite Premiere Pro

• Proven ability to image edit using Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop

• Ability to use Adobe After Effects (desirable, not essential)

• Strong knowledge and experience with different social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok etc.)

• Excellent English grammar and spelling skills

• Demonstrable ability and skill to edit creative video to a satisfactory standard as per deadlines set.

SOFTWARE AND EQUIPMENT

You will need:

• A fully licensed copy of Adobe Premiere, version 23 or later)

• A modern browser that supports Google Workspace apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets etc), eg Chrome version 108 or later

• A reliable broadband connection capable of downloading and uploading multiple raw video assets per day and a recommended upload/download speed of at least 20Mbps

• To follow the security recommendations as set out in our Data Security Policy

• To ensure the device is running licensed software with all supplier/manufacturer recommended security patches installed together with up-to-date anti-virus software.
