The GRS Sustainability team is seeking an experienced and talented person to join a team focused on capitalizing on that opportunity and driving growth and sustained top tier profitability as we integrate our sustainability strategy across our entire global $14B commercial business.


Collaborating within a newly formed GRS Sustainability Team and supporting GRS Head of Sustainability, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders and partners to lead the drive on business-enhancing internal and external engagement as well as training. You will help set an engagement strategy for the team and coordinate a vast array of stakeholders globally, balancing internal and external needs and pressures. You are an excellent communicator and relationship manager. You enjoy collaborating and influencing to achieve shared objectives. You blend sustainability/ESG knowledge and passion with communications/marketing know-how.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supports GRS Head of Sustainability and team with engagement strategy development and coordination of existing and new engagement efforts.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including and not limited to: internal communications, external communications, PR, marketing, corporate Office of Sustainability, Office of Underwriting (including Insurance Solutions and Energy Transition teams), and business units (Liberty Specialty Markets, LM Re, North America Specialty and Surety).
  • Coordinates the evolution of our sustainability narrative/ambition evolution.
  • Leads on the development and release of associated internal and external communication/collateral.
  • Sets annual strategy and plans and manages sustainability/ESG engagement, events, projects and initiatives across the central team and spokes.
  • Sets annual training strategy and collaborates with teams to produce content and material for ESG and climate training programs.
  • Supports development of ESG thought leadership, and research on market and peer trends and developments.
  • Maintains external partnerships, memberships, and organizational commitments, including assessing value and new potential opportunities.
  • Oversees accountability and governance structure in close collaboration with Head of Sustainability and Sustainability Business Integration lead


What the Ideal Candidate will have:


  • Demonstrates strategic thinking, business knowledge, credibility, and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization and among a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing deliverables and handles large number of stakeholders and diverse perspectives.
  • Ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Demonstrates passion for ESG and driving towards a more sustainable future.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience in supporting initiatives that deliver against agreed organizational priorities in sustainability (or other relevant/transferable area) preferred
  • Strong knowledge and monitoring practices of ESG in business.
  • Experience in a P&C insurance environment a plus. Advanced degree in relevant field a plus.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor`s degree (preferably in Sustainability/ESG or related field) or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science or similar field preferred
  • In depth expertise on global sustainability trends, sustainability standards and domestic & international ESG regulation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior leaders
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills with a proven track record of cross-functional implementation
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance
  • Subject matter expert on sustainability and experience designing and implementing solutions for complex ESG issues
