Transport Operations Assistant

LASO UK Ltd, is a National and International, Specialist Road Haulage Company, with its Headquartes in Portugal, it also has mutlipe offices in other countries including Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Netherlands, Morocco and Mozambique.

We are looking for a Transport Operations Assistant to join our growing UK team and help manage the day-to-day operations of our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Operational support to the Commercial team, liaising with Customers, Drivers, Sub Contractors and Suppliers.

They will also need to be performing data entry tasks, preparing reports, and maintaining records. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be detail-orientated, strong communicator, computer literate and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• National / International Road Haulage Operations.
• Working knowledge of different types of Specialist trailer equipment.
• Abnormal load rules and regulations / transport / permits.
• Customs formalities - desired but not essential.
• Spanish or Portuguese speaking beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Submit Abnormal load notifications.
• Schedule Escort vehicles.
• Coordinate daily operations, vehicle planning, sub contractor support.
• Maintain records of operational activities.
• Monitor and analyse operational performance.
• Develop and implement operational strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Provide administrative support to the Commercial and Operations teams.
• Driver monitoring - On time deliveries, Attendance, Holidays, Tacho Analysis, WTD.

Full time role - 10 hour day shift, Monday to Friday.

Occasional requirement for overnight or weekend cover on phone - 'On call'

Salary offered is dependant on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Abnormal loads Transport: 2 years (preferred)
• Customs Formalities: 1 year (preferred)
• working in Road Haulage: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (preferred)

Work authorisation:

• United Kingdom (required)
