Position Overview & Specifications

An opportunity has arisen for a Data Clerk to be part of our supportive and forward-thinking team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible person with excellent communication and administrative skills to work as part of the team.

You will be responsible for the monitoring and management of the Neonatal specific Electronic Patient Records system, called Badgernet. IT skills are necessary and knowledge of Quadramed system would be beneficial, but training will be given. You will enhance our team to maintain the highest standards of record keeping in line with data protection have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organisation.

To monitor and manage the neonatal EPR system on the Neonatal intensive care Unit at Lancashire Teaching Hospital, acting in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Respond to requests for information promptly and efficiently using a variety of communication methods, ensuring that information governance standards are adhered to. Ensure information is accurate and meets Trust Standards regarding delivering information.

The wide variety of activities being undertaken by the Trust, mean that responsibilities have to be shared with other members of staff/immediate co-workers. Team working and collaboration are vital, as is a flexible approach to both working duties and hours worked. Working alongside the neonatal ward clerks there will be some occasions when cover of their duties may be required.

We have an amazing neonatal multi-disciplinary team that delivers intensive care, high dependency, special and transitional care for babies in the local Preston area and also for sick and extremely preterm babies from across Lancashire & South Cumbria.

Perform an ambassadorial role, representing Neonatal Services, when communicating with both internal and external stakeholders

Ensure that up to date information is available regarding activity within all departments so that queries can be answered promptly and accurately.

Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust / Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.

Data Entry and provision of reports

Utilisation of local or Trust case note tracking system.
