Position Overview & Specifications
- Design and lead inclusive interdisciplinary education for first year undergraduate students.
- Build collaborative curriculum design with a broad range of faculty colleagues in order to embed the module within existing first year curricula
- Lead and co-ordinate assessment for the first year undergraduate module
- Working with the Lecturer in Educational Development, lead and support innovation in inclusive interdisciplinary learning, teaching and assessment
- Working with the Researcher in Interdisciplinary Education, take an evaluative and inquiry-based approach in ongoing collaborative curriculum design, feeding into future iterations of the module and linking this provision to optional interdisciplinary modules for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students.
- Coordinate the work of tutors across the College, including Graduate Teaching Fellows, with the support of the programme administrator
- Undertake scholarship and research which informs your practice and the work of the Interdisciplinary Education Team
- Undertake professional development, as appropriate with respect to teaching, research and leadership.
- To play a full and collegial part as a member of the Interdisciplinary Education Team
- PhD in any disciplinary or interdisciplinary field
- Experience of designing interdisciplinary curricula and inclusive teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Deep understanding of the principles and practices of fair assessment in higher education
- Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
- Commitment to and/or experience of working in multi-disciplinary research and teaching
- Experience of leading educational development/curriculum development with peers with sensitivity, clarity and awareness of the educative potential of diversity
- Experience of teaching one or more modules and coordinating the work of peers in team teaching and assessment (Grade 7)
- Teaching qualification relevant to Higher Education, or a commitment to undertake this
- Knowledge of the UK higher education environment, especially related to student experience, inclusive and interdisciplinary education
- Higher Education Academy accreditation or commitment to acquiring this
