Support Worker

About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, caring and patient individual to work as part of a small team in supporting a young woman with a brain injury in her own home in the Middlesbrough area. No previous experience needed, all training and supervision will be provided. Personal care is involved - Post open to women only and employees need a proficient understanding and spoken capacity of the English language - GOR applies.

You will support her in her own home in increasing her independence, in the community and on her holidays. You will work alongside highly specialised and skilled therapists to support her with her essential daily rehabilitation programme. You will also be required to drive her vehicle, allowing her to access the community.

This post includes evening, weekend shifts and sleep in duties.

About you:

Essential

ü you are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion

ü you are friendly, approachable and understanding

ü you are flexible and you work well under pressure

ü you have a full, clean UK driving licence and are confident to drive the client’s vehicle

ü you have the physical capability for moving and handling

Preferred

ü you have experience of supporting someone with a brain injury

Qualified staff assess clients’ needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have five offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.
