J N Bentley are looking for a Project / Site Manager to help us deliver works for Cadent Gas & National Grid Frameworks – clients to JN Bentley and ones that offer plenty of opportunities for growth and development, for our colleagues and our business. Following our recent appointment on Cadent & Existing National Grid Framework , we have an exciting opportunity for a Project / Site Manager to join our team to help lead the delivery of a variety of Civils and Mechanical projects throughout England and Wales

The Role

As a Project / Site Manager within our Cadent / National Grid team, you’ll report into a Contracts Manager, with the opportunity to engage and provide ideas during the development of detailed designs to make our projects easier, safer, more cost effective and more sustainable to build.

Primarily, you’ll be responsible for managing day to day site operations to ensure that construction work is delivered safely, within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the appropriate standards, specifications and regulatory requirements. Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The on-site management of labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
• Carrying our regular inspections to monitor performance and ensure health, safety, environmental and quality compliance throughout construction
• Make key contributions to the planning our works – and briefing project teams, subcontractors and key suppliers
• Work with our design team to find optimal solutions

• Have Site Management experience in the delivery of civils and Mechanical projects
• Experience of working in a collaborative design and build environment
• A thorough understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes
• And a thorough understanding of commercial, contractual and procurement processes
• Familiarity of working with NEC Form of Contract
• The following training accreditations are essential: list them here (i.e. SMSTS, CSCS,)
• In addition to the training above we require the ideal candidate to have SHEA Gas Passport and / or SCO 1&2 / SCO 91
• Good knowledge of temporary works
