Job Description
With new business growth and an exciting future ahead, this well-established business is currently looking for Plastic Extrusion Machine Operators to join their team.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can jump right in and run the machine to its fullest potential. Extrusion Operator, with rigid plastics experience would be ideal.
The purpose of the role is to set and operate the machinery within the Extrusion Department in order to achieve optimum production and at the same time ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Key tasks:
Set and operate the extrusion machinery effectively and efficiently
Monitor production, quality, yield and waste at regular intervals to ensure optimum production figures are achieved.
Ensure that all Quality Control procedures are adhered to whilst identifying any non-conforming goods
Encourage teamwork to ensure that the targets and deadlines are met
Report and address any Health & Safety issues within the extrusion department.
Maintaining good housekeeping standards across the extrusion department in line with BRC.
Complete relevant paperwork accurately for administration purposes
Assist with any maintenance needs in the extrusion department ensuring the plant and machinery is in safe working order and running efficiently at all times
Key knowledge and experience:
Working with Rigid plastics (PET)
Experience of working with plastic extrusion machinery
The Person
· Experience of working in a production environment is essential
· Specific experience of extrusion is highly desirable
· A team player with good communication skills and problem solving skills
· Experience of continuous improvement methodology is an advantage

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
