Position Overview & Specifications

JRS are delighted to be recruiting for a Manufacturing Team Leader to come and join our fabulous client in Camberley who offer a fantastic working environment, competitive salary package and an early finish on a Friday!

As a Team Leader within the Department, responsibility for the people, procedures and processes within the Department. Managing, motivating, and engaging the Teams to meet business targets. Set the example by creating a positive and respectful environment within the Team based upon the company values.

Duties include:

  • Clearly communicate required tasks, agree deadline, and monitor achievement
  • Set and agree SMART objectives for individuals/team and monitor performance against these
  • Address performance or conduct issues quickly, candidly, and constructively with the assistance of HR
  • Identify training and development opportunities for the team
  • Ensure final product meets quality standards and customer specifications
  • Raising of NCN’s of rejected products
  • Carrying out works order operations as detailed
  • Component and sub-assembly fabrication (drilling, cutting, rolling, grinding, spot welding, etc.) to meet set deadlines
  • Notify projects team of any issues that may prevent any set deadlines being met either for internal or subcontract work
  • Stock location and re-location of all fabrication components, maintaining traceability and location control at all times
  • Regular stock checking and stock query resolution, control of offcuts and scrap materials
  • Involvement in equipment maintenance
  • Support of related teams in their problem-solving activities
  • Area shutdown at the end of the shift
  • Complete all documentation required by the Company administrative system accurately and on time
  • Involvement in Total Preventative Maintenance
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are always maintained in and around the production area

Required Skills

  • Experience of working within an Engineering Workshop
  • Experience of and ability to read Engineering Drawings
  • Experience of machine shop and/or press cell and/or sheet metal
  • Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience
  • Experience of employee performance management
  • Organisational Skills – personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills – leading the team, managing diverse personalities and points of view with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others
  • Commercial Acumen – the ability to understand company finances, resourcing, and the ultimate aims of the business
  • Role Modelling – Able to demonstrate and lead on the values, initiatives, and culture of the organisation
  • Coaching & Mentoring – Comfortable in developing team members and empowering staff
  • Trust – a high level of integrity with the ability to become the trusted confidante for Senior Management, unafraid of giving own opinions and expertise
  • Influencing Skills – the ability to influence at all levels and challenge without creating barriers

Benefits include

  • Salary: £37,000 – £42,000 dependant on experience
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm
