Warehouse Assistant

Responsible to Warehouse Storeperson

This person specification is designed to clarify the day-to-day and general responsibilities for the above referenced position. Due to the size and nature of our business the company reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the business.

Responsible for:

• Goods inwards & Goods out, Health and Safety & USA Shipments.
• Main Duties:
• Goods inwards including off load with use of forklift, Receipt in items, Inspection and recording of all goods received at unit & placing items into the relevant locations.
• Goods Out, Pick/pack goods for dispatch, Record all serial numbers, produce paperwork/courier labels, Load Courier accurately.
• Packing items safely and correctly, packing all shipped items (manual handling).
• Warehouse Maintenance – general tidiness of warehouse
• Breakdown of USA weekly shipments including unpacking items, counting and checking of items, coordinating customer shipments, packing items for dispatch, organizing part shipments / shelf, returning items to USA / storage.
• USA Returns - quarterly
• Maintaining UK Repairs accurately.
• Maintaining UK part shipment accurately.
• Quality Control – checking all sockets, accessories are fit for purpose (rings & pins / damage to sockets).

Health and Safety

To implement all appropriate H&S guidance to ensure that statutory safety regulations and safe practice is complied with at all times including but not limited to the following:

• Checking all relevant areas for hazards. Visual risk assessments.
• Keeping all fire escapes cleared and available to exit.
• Keeping all fire extinguishers in accurate locations and available.
• Carrying out weekly fork lift checks and logging records in the file.
• Access to all areas kept clear.
• Oil spills cleared up immediately.
• Fire Risk Assessments – Friday check one call point and document the test.
• All packaging / oil / warehouse consumables kept in order, and at suitable levels. Ordering passed to the office in ample time to ensure levels are maintained appropriately.
