Humly North East is working with one of our fantastic primary schools in Sunderland (SR3) who are looking for a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistants to work across all key stages, working both 1:1 and with small groups of children. There are both full time and part time positions, starting ASAP and they will run till end of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping pupils with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing
- Supervising group activities
- Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy
- Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
- Motivating and encouraging pupils
- Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour and progress
It’s essential that you have:
- A positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport
- A level 2/3 qualification in childcare or TA
- A strong regard for pupil safety and well-being
- Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
- Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers,and governors
- Excellent team working skills for working with other support staff
If you would like to be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant an enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service will be required and satisfactory references will be needed. Our compliance team will fully support you through this process.
