We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Regulatory and Business Change Analyst

Global Debt Markets services a global client franchise utilising HSBC’s subsidiary setup. Regulatory changes impact various aspects of the business model and commercial franchise. It is essential for the business to be able to respond to these changes in a manner that ensures compliance while protecting and enhancing the existing franchise.

The primary focus of this role is analysis and support covering a number of different regulations and BAU COO tasks

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the business management team in designing and validating change strategies
  • Understanding the impact of upcoming and existing regulations on the commercial model of the business
  • Supporting change implementation – engagement with programme teams from a Front Office perspective, definition of business and functional requirements and on-going interaction with implementation teams
  • Assisting the Front Office control and supervisory teams in updating DIMs and procedures to comply with various regulatory requirements (swap dealing rules, guidelines on recommendations etc)
  • Building relationships with key FO, Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance stakeholders globally
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience of working within a front office setting is essential, ideally with some change implementation exposure
  • Proven background in market risk/regulatory change, ideally from within a trading or sales setting
  • Knowledge of the trading business model with experience of fixed income preferable
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Very strong investigative and analytical expertise with the ability to read and analyse complex regulatory texts
  • Masters/Graduate level candidate, ideally with a relevant qualification, advantageous

The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office based working out of HSBC offices in Edinburgh
