A bit about the role....

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, passionate and influential EDI person, with a passion for making a difference to join our HR Strategy & Change team.

You will play a critical role in shaping the ED&I objectives and culture, where colleagues feel supported to do their best work and truly be themselves. Changes to the external environment continue to bring challenges and opportunities to support diverse communities and the levelling up agenda. We know that to make a positive difference in our role at Homes England we need a more diverse and inclusive culture to make change happen. Recognising that people are at the heart of enabling this, your portfolio will enable positive change and you will be involved in shaping and delivering a diverse range of HR projects in our ambitious agenda.

You will act as an advocate for, and subject matter expert in, EDI, taking the lead in the shaping, developing and embedding of the EDI agenda into the fabric of Homes England. Integral to this will be building and developing impactful relationships with stakeholders and influencing decision making across the organisation. By creating an environment of trust, inclusion and belonging you will ensure that our EDI objectives are led and embedded in an inspiring way to enable Homes England to lead the way in becoming a welcoming environment for all.

A bit about you...

We are looking for a strong track record in the wide remit of ED&I. We are particularly keen to see experience of scoping and shaping the agenda and influencing senior colleagues to enable change. Ideally good experience of coaching and supporting networks to collaborate across the full agenda to support an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

We will support you, wherever possible, so that you don’t miss out on what truly matters to you. If you do ever need a little bit of extra help we have a great employee assistance programme, financial well-being support and access to loads of great discounts with leading high street names. If you are a member of a professional body, we’ll pay for your membership and once you get your top of the range digital kit, you’ll be good to go in one of our great offices. Our range of network groups are also there to both support you to truly be yourself at work and play a key role in helping shape our future and our ED&I goals.

If you feel you have the skills, knowledge and experience we would be interested to learn more about you.

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are totally committed to hybrid working. We have a 50/50 model in agile offices, and you can be based in Newcastle, Coventry, Bristol, Northstowe or Leeds.

Who are we?

We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of housebuilding across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues – meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year. We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live. Within the next few years, we will have invested over £27 billion across our programmes. To deliver against these aims we’re building a different kind of public service - join us to help make this happen.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications. We also encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.

If your application is shortlisted to interview, we will require you to provide proof of your right to work in the UK at that stage.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community. We are all hybrid working at the moment spending some of our time working from home and some based at our offices which are spread across England. The wellbeing of our colleagues remains one of our top priorities.
