Holmen Iggesund Paperboard is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

Your future challenge

A new, exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer at the Workington Mill.

Reporting to the Head of Pulp & Boardmaking, the successful candidate will drive improvements in health and safety, environmental performance, product quality and process stability through statistical process control, data collection and data analysis. The Process Engineer will take a leading role in problem solving initiatives and contribute to investment projects.

To succeed in this role

The successful Process Engineer will possess:

  • Degree level education in a relevant engineering, science or papermaking discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Appropriate training in Health and Safety (IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Excellent knowledge of the pulp and papermaking processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive approach to improvement activities
