Position Overview & Specifications

Job Title: Experienced Composites Technician

Location: Hill Helicopters Development Centre 2, Rugeley, Staffordshire, WS15 2WB UK.

Type: Full time Permanent. Immediate Start.

(Strictly no Agencies or Recruitment Agents)

Salary: Excellent rates of pay dependent on experience.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hour working week.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture tooling and components to a high level.

Apply sealants and release agents.

Prepare Patterns and Moulds ready for manufacture

Lay-up Carbon fibre material as per instructions provided.

Vacuum bag for oven cure, including bag checks to ensure no leaks

Load/unload oven.

Structural bonding of composite and metallic materials.

Use of film adhesives, foams and honeycomb, both aluminium and Nomex.

Achieve production schedules.

Ensure the facilities are kept safe, clean and organised

Attend all required training courses.

Basic Requirements:

Interpret drawings.

Ability to create templates from instructions provided.

Use of measuring equipment.

Laminate to a high level.

Create vacuum using various consumables.

Removal of cured components from tools.

Pattern shuttering and preparation.

Understand perimeter and envelope bagging.

Ability to trim and finish components.

Desirable:

Excellent problem solving skills.

Provide training, guidance and assistance to co-workers.

Experience with composite assembly techniques
