What we do
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People transform the lives of deaf people by the provision of a hearing dog. We train more than 200 dogs per year for deaf adults and children. Accounting for 60% of the workforce, comprising of 90 employees and nearly 600 volunteers, the operations department is responsible for the breeding (dog supply), training and welfare of up to 450 dogs in training.
What you will be doing
The role of the Placement Course Supervisor is to provide the best possible start for each Hearing Dog leaving their training journey to begin their life as a future life changer.
This varied and immensely rewarding role is key to laying the foundations for which every partnership is built upon. Focusing on building strong bond and relationships through coaching and mentoring, the Placement Course Supervisor leads the partnership creation stage known as the ‘placement course’. The placement course is a four-stage process, comprising of virtual and in person support taking place in partners homes and at the training centres.
What you will need to succeed
We are seeking someone who is:
- self-motivated with previous experience of teaching, coaching, and mentoring with a strong ability to problem solve.
- Technical dog training experience is desirable but not essential.
