Position Overview & Specifications

Cash Office Assistant (Weekends)

Location: Regent Street

Hours per week: 12 hours (Weekends only)

Contract: Permanent

OVERVIEW

To support the store and company objectives by effectively controlling cash and banking procedures, and working closely with the Store Manager to maintain control on sales floor cash procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PEOPLE

  • To present a professional image and positive attitude to internal and external customers
  • To project the company image in personal appearance
  • To be a role model and support the team by supporting all cash and banking procedures
  • To demonstrate effective communication skills
  • To share knowledge and effectively communicate with all the team on promotional and operational information
  • To adapt to the ever-changing needs of the business with a positive attitude

PROFIT

  • To demonstrate an ability to support the Store by monitoring cash control and suggesting measures to reduce cash loss
  • To support Hamleys trading and promotional program by achieving appropriate targets in line with company operational strategy

PRODUCT

  • Monitor till processing errors and discrepancies, to identify key trends and working with Store Managers to implement corrective procedures

PROCEDURES

  • To efficiently adhere to all Company and Cash Office procedures and policies, effectively deputing for the Management team in their absence
  • Fully investigate any discrepancies and suggest corrective action where appropriate

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • To provide a safe environment, following Health & Safety guidelines and to be aware of the security of the floor
  • To implement and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Highly Numerate and articulate
  • Previous experience within a cash environment
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • PC Literate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Ability to communicate team members views to the Management team effectively
