Position Overview & Specifications

Here at GXO, we have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse First Line Manager to join the team, at our multi temperature warehouse for our leading frozen food customer, Iceland, based in Swindon.
You will be responsible for ensuring and driving efficient operational performance, whilst maintaining strong communications with the on-site senior management team. In this role, you’ll be working any 5 days out of 7, on rotational shifts, 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm, meaning weekend availability is essential.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £31,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead a large team of colleagues to operational success in our Multi Temperature warehouse
  • Set daily and weekly KPIs and ensure that these are always being met, and ideally exceeded
  • Maximise productivity and improve quality in order to grow your team
  • Lead HR requirements in relation to investigation, disciplinary, grievance and absence management

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience in managing a large operational team in a fast-paced warehouse environment (ideally a food operation)
  • The ability to lead continuous improvement projects whilst demonstrating excellent planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on maintaining on-site engagement
