Junior Broker – Guy Carpenter - London

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, unique and successful team handling a diverse portfolio of Global Marine & Energy Specialty business. The team is made up of individuals with considerable experience along with some colleagues who are newer to the insurance market and this offers a unique and supportive working environment with huge scope for continued development and learning.

The Global Marine & Energy Specialty team is looking for a candidate to join as a Junior Broker to assist in the handling of client renewals and to enable the continued growth of the account. The successful candidate must have an enthusiasm to learn, progress quickly and the ability to work closely with others, including Insurers and Reinsurers, to effectively manage a portfolio of clients and ensure best practice is achieved.

This is the perfect role for someone with a limited background in insurance having worked in a Client Manager/Account Handler type role looking to join an established, market leading insurance broker or a Graduate looking to start a career in Insurance

What you will be rewarded with?

We will rely on you to:

  • Assist the senior brokers to help manage workflow in order to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist the senior brokers in basic aspects of the preparation for (re)insurance proposals to present to market.
  • Work on aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards.
  • Help manage day to day queries, renewals, amendments, data preparation
  • Help build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, client teams and producers to provide best in class service and drive growth.
  • Offer technical support when needed to ensure relationship satisfaction and maintain a mutual internal and external understanding.
  • Have an understanding of changing market conditions and understand and comply with all compliance, professional and transparency standards to better serve clients

What you need to have:

  • Strong education to A level or Graduate standard.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be a team player
