Job Description Summary
GE - Renewable Energy would like to recruit a Welding and Inspection Engineer to work from our Stafford office. You will ensure fabrications manufactured by suppliers meet all quality requirements defined within applicable codes and that zero fabrication defects are delivered to units.Job Description
- NPI risk analysis with new fabrication products or fabrication processes.
- Fabrication supplier Product qualification at supplier premises following Grid Solutions process and tools.
- Ensuring manufacturability of GE Design of fabrications in conjunction with execution engineering.
- Evaluation & approval of supplier weld log including of weld/NDT procedure & qualification
- Training & qualification of 3rd parts inspectors, coordination of fabrication surveillance & PSI activities to ensure supplier conformance to applicable codes & quality plan.
- Evaluation and approval of NDT results.
- Fabrication Supplier NCR governance including resolution of defects in alignment with quality & production schedule requirements
- Continual development of Fabrication Control Plans through application of ROE.
- Monitoring of fabrication supplier performance, identification of deteriorating trends and implementation of action plans to drive continual improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 & ISO 3834).
- Certified welder through TWI
- Level 2 NDT, inclusive of DP, MT & UT
- Extensive experience in surface preparation and corrosion protection application.
- Strong background in developing fabrication processes and driving improved performance.
- Expertise in the use of the prevention tools including FMEA, Process capability, R&R, 8D & APQP
- In-depth knowledge of transformer welding & NDT processes.
- Good working knowledge of GE quality tools within Quality Suite.
Desired Experience:
- Passion for customer satisfaction with strong leadership and influencing skills and is a team player
- Analytically strong with sound data analysis skills. Able to operate under own initiative with autonomy.
- Fluent in English, other languages advantageous
- Proven experience in driving improvement in supplier performance
