Junior Full Stack Web Developer

The role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic junior full stack web developer to join our team. You’ll be working on a wide range of projects within our portfolio. You will be required to work from our office in Wells, (this is not a remote/home working position).

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain our custom-built websites. You will need to deliver quality, clean code with a passion for best practice.

Salary: £20,000 - £30,000

Hours: 8.45am-5pm Monday to Friday (early finish on a Friday).

Location: Our Wells based office.

Essential skills

• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.
• Experience working within PHP frameworks, ideally Laravel or similar.
• Experience working with relational databases i.e. MySQL.
• Experience working with APIs.
• A good understanding of programmatic best practices and how they are implemented.

Desirable skills

• Experience with some Linux server admin.
• Experience with front-end frameworks i.e. Bootstrap.
• Experience of ensuring websites work on a variety of mobile & desktop browsers.

Personal attributes

• You are eager for more responsibility and happy to take a lead on small to medium sized projects.
• You can manage your own workload to meet milestones and deliver projects on time.
• You work well within a team environment whilst possessing excellent interpersonal skills and technical knowledge.
• You are comfortable inputting into group situations, both colleague and client facing.
• You care about the work that you produce with a passion for best practice.

Established in 2003, Gatenby Services provides IT solutions for companies in the South West. We also have a portfolio of other websites inhouse that we own & look after. We are a team of approx 20 people and we all work from the Wells office.
