Position Overview & Specifications

As the UK’s first-ever home interest magazine, Homes & Gardens has been shaping British style for 100 years. Our core pillars are inspirational interiors, stylish decorating, beautiful gardens and fascinating stories.

We’re now looking for a Content Editor to join our team to create brilliant gardens content for Homes & Gardens. The role will involve writing features and short-form articles for one of the world’s leading house and garden design websites, as well as managing special projects as required by the Editor in Chief.


What you’ll be doing

As Content Editor at Homes & Gardens, you’ll be writing and publishing garden content - which includes sub-editing and ensuring SEO best practice is applied to articles as required – i.e. re-writing headlines, meta titles and meta descriptions.

You’ll be attending brand creative meetings to pitch ideas, uploading content from external contributors into CMS, editing and updating existing content on the site and developing a network of industry contacts to provide expert comments on relevant articles.


Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • Excellent writing, grammar and sub-editing skills.
  • A strong interest in and understanding of the gardens sector.
  • Good grasp of SEO principles.
  • A discerning eye – you’ll be required to assess image quality and suitability.
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
