About this opportunity

Every day, people on all continents watch television programs prepared, managed and broadcast by Red Bee Media staff. Every year, working with some of the biggest names in broadcast we deliver more than 2.7 million hours of programming in more than 60 languages for nearly 600 TV channels. Red Bee Media is currently on the lookout for a talented individual who is wanting to begin a career within the Broadcasting industry.


As a Media Management Operator, you will be responsible for the day to day acquisition and media management of content. This could be managing MAM workflows, Lines Records, Content QC and being a point of content for our clients and internal departments.


What you will do

  • Recording, ingesting and managing media required by Playout, Compliance, Access Services, VOD and other clients.
  • Ensuring ingested media is ready for playout and the original technical quality of the media is not lost.
  • Ensuring all associated media (metadata) such as subtitles, separate audio sources and in-vision sign language are correctly ingested onto server.
  • To check Outside Source (OS) availability and record live incoming material (e.g. studios or outside broadcasts) to server for later playout.
  • To quality check material and report faults where required, according to specific guidelines laid down by clients.
  • Trouble-shooting technical issues and escalation of faults to relevant teams


You will bring

  • Experience working in a similar role, or passion to develop a career in media operations.
  • Highly adaptable – Being part of a Broadcast critical team you will need to adaptable to last-minute changes and specific customer nuances that arise, and to be able to learn new processes quickly
  • Good decision making under pressure – Dealing with programmes that are likely transmitting imminently. Especially when faced with issues, you need to be able to make good decision making under pressure
  • Clear and positive communicator – When dealing with critical items, you need to be able to communicate with other teams such as the customer or engineers in a clear manner. Positive is also important, as a service provider we need to go the extra mile to fix problems and be prepared to help people who may have inferior technical knowledge and experience than us
  • High level of accuracy – Both on spotting quality control issues with media and with handling lines bookings and scheduling recordings
