Job description
Hydrometry & Telemetry (H&T) Officer 2 working within south and west Yorkshire, but more specifically, around the Leeds/Bradford area. We need a highly motivated individual required to work in the field in all weather conditions, often alone and sometimes in remote locations. Work will involve the installation, maintaining and operating of various types of H&T assets across the area, ensuring the highest quality of data is always available to our customers. Sites will include a mix of rainfall, groundwater, level and flow sites - all absolutely critical in terms of flood warning and hydrometric measurement.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
The team is relatively small and comprises of Electrical Technicians and Field Technicians who work to ensure that Yorkshire's H&T assets are maintained well and deliver data of the highest standards. The team are all home based and manage their workloads individually, often working together to deliver our work programme. The highest levels of Health and Safety is required at all times.
Experience/skills required
Motivation to deliver, ability to plan and manage workloads. Flexibility in approach and a willingness to learn. A good knowledge of health and safety is essential, a can-do attitude and the ability to understand personal limitations and seek help when required. Must be able to communicate effectively to clients, team members and members of the public. Use of own initiative is essential and must have an eye for detail and quality, be efficient and work in an environmentally sensitive manner. Previous experience of outdoor work, construction works and use of hand tools would be desirable, but not essential.
Contact and additional information
I am advertising for two H&T Officers, one on a permanent contract and the other on a fixed term contract until 31 Mar 24. The two best candidates based on application and interview will be selected for this role.
For work and travel purposes, it is important to live in and around the Leeds/Bradford area - this will be taken into consideration when conducting interviews and selecting the right people.

Thank you, and good luck.
