Position Overview & Specifications

The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern will report directly to the Site Director. They will support site teams by providing analysis, tools and methodology development, project management, training support, and any other requirements as needed. This role is a hands-on learning role, focused on improving key aspects of our business while learning about Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and conduct continuous improvement activities
o Hands on improvement projects on the factory floor by applying fundamental CI methodologies.
o Collaborate with cross functional departments to drive process optimization and product quality.
o Identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement through data driven analysis and decision making.
o Support and facilitate kaizen events and workshops as required.
  • Learn and deploy Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement techniques
  • Identify and replicate best practice processes in the business
  • Provide analytical support to teams using Excel, Minitab, or other software Review end to end manufacturing processes to assess improvement opportunities.

Additional Position Information/Details:

Education:
  • University courses required
o Business, engineering, or science courses preferred
Experience:
  • Strong analytical writing, data analysis, presentation presence, and computer skills
  • Willing to learn about a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to execute tactically
  • Organization and administration skills
  • This person must be adaptable and allow for a flexible work schedule.
