Assistant Psychologist

Introduction

In working under the supervision of a clinical psychologist you will contribute to the psychology provision at Spring Wood Lodge. Assisting with psychological assessments, observations, formulation, interventions, and reports for patients across.

To utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the hospital.

To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the psychology development plan and hospital policies and procedures.

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working as an assistant psychologist supervised by a clinical psychologist.
• Experience of running psychoeducational groups.
• Experience of working in an inpatient setting.
• Experience of maintaining office systems and undertaking administration tasks.
• Experience of teaching others within professional and/or academic settings.

Desirable

• Experience of delivering group or individual based psychological interventions
• Experience of working in ABI, Forensic, Health and/or LD settings.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Previous experience of conducting research, audit and project working.
• Direct clinical experience of specialist psychometric assessment, formulation and treatment of clients.
• Experience of the application of psychology in different cultural contexts.
