Drivers Mate/Warehouse Operative

Job description
A driver’s mate is required for a busy recycling company. You should be motivated and driven and have the desire to learn new skills. You must be physically fit with a good general Geographic knowledge. The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving license with at least 3 years driving experience ideally in a commercial setting. As a customer facing role the successful candidate will need to promote a high quality service to customers and suppliers, the successful candidate will also be required to work in the warehouse operations from time to time.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

1) To promote the high quality service offering of the Company with customers, suppliers and the general public as a front-line representative of the business.

2) To maintain an excellent level of communication with all other departments, customers and the general public to maximise added value and sales opportunities from the customers.

3) Flexibility to cover local collections, or general operative work as required by the business.

4) To maintain professional and appropriate self-presentation, including but not limited to uniform and all company equipment at all times

5) Responsible for site security and resource physical protection of all company property, including but not limited to Company Vehicles, IT equipment, documentation, uniform etc ensuring that it is maintained in good condition and working order and is kept as securely as possible.

6) Provide regular feedback to Transport Planner on vehicle performance and utilisation to encourage a collaborative approach to improvement of expected service levels.

7) To act in such a way as to consistently protect one’s own health and safety as well as that of others To follow all Company risk assessments, safe operating procedure and health and safety policy. To follow all H&S guidance and regulatory guidance.
