Position Overview & Specifications
The post will involve multi-disciplinary assessment, formulation, and intensive intervention for young people with a variety of mental health/behavioural difficulties. The post-holder will also be required to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions provided and undertake Quality Improvement initiatives and audits. In particular, the post will include a key role in evaluating the work of the newly established CSLT which provides specialist mental health consultation, teaching and input to all primary and secondary schools across Luton, part of the Future in Mind initiative to ensure that robust mental health is promoted in educational settings.
CAMHS is a busy team working to four discrete child and adolescent mental health pathways: emotional & behavioural difficulties in childhood and adolescence, adolescent crisis care, neurodevelopmental child & adolescent care and targeted CAMHS interventions.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised psychology graduate with some relevant experience working with young people and families, as well as high level written and verbal communication skills. The post-holder will be keen to use supervision and training to develop assessment and clinical skills.
The post-holder will work in an experienced multi-disciplinary team and be able to work well in different systems. This will also include contribution to group therapies and using visual tools and statistical packages to analyse and present the performance data of the service. The post holder will be supported to form links with the other Assistant Psychologists in the service and to undertake CPD activities related to career progression. Please note that this is a fixed term appointment in the first instance.
