About us

The new global IT organisation launched in October 2022 and includes Service Management roles in each of the new IT functions, including RDD & NPI IT.

Dyson’s Global IT RDD & New Product Innovation (NPI) function has end-to-end accountability for the strategic roadmap, design, delivery, and support of many of the applications enabling Dyson’s global RDD and NPI teams and processes, with particular focus on early product research and development, global RDD functions, robotics, and software development.

About the Role

The Release Lead provides leadership in planning; scheduling coordinating and approval management for all production releases in the RDD & NPI portfolio. Reporting to the Delivery Manager and supporting changes globally, they manage releases to the applications.

  • Work with Business Analysts, QA, Project Managers, and Delivery Leads to align projects and planned changes with scheduled releases.
  • Evaluate sprint progress across multiple projects with Project Managers, QA, and Scrum Masters in respect to the inclusion of sprint outcomes in scheduled releases.
  • Manage release content, ensuring dependencies and priorities are clearly understood and communicated appropriately to impacted stakeholders.
  • Support Service Managers and Transition Leads as required for the successful release implementation into production.
  • Provide an on-going assessment of release performance and apply continuous improvement action as necessary across the end-to-end release lifecycle.
  • Provide accurate and relevant release reporting for insight, project management tracking and senior management review.
  • Provide strong management of the release schedule in line with customer peak periods and business unit change freezes.
  • Set policy and standards around CI/CD for applications within RDD & NPI

About You

  • Experience managing change or release processes for a large multi-national organisation
  • Proven experience in implementing and shaping change, release or service management strategies and processes.
  • Proven experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring people in change or release management principles
  • Experience across, branching strategy , automation pipelines and coding standards
  • Competent in generating reports using PowerBi or other selected Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience using the Atlassian suite.
  • Experience with other tools CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins
