Role Title: Public Health Officer - Be Well Doncaster

Based at: Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster

Salary details: Grade 7, £24,044 - £26,740 pay award pending


Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Jan 2024 - 37 Hours Per Week

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Public Health team in Doncaster.

The post holder will primarily be responsible for:

To provide project support within the Be Well Doncaster, Well Doncaster and Local Delivery Pilot (LDP) programmes

To tackle the underlying causes of ill health through behaviour change techniques such as motivational interviewing, coaching and brief intervention.

To support the delivery the Be Well Doncaster model which aims to address the commercial determinants of health by moving away from the deficit- base approaches which tackle unhealthy behaviours such as smoking, excess alcohol consumption, physical inactivity and poor diet.

To deliver one-to-one support, via phone, virtual platform and face to face, conducting initial consultations and evaluations of individuals to facilitate behaviour change and health improvement.

Support the development of community centred approaches and co-designed community based public health interventions that may address, long term health condition self-management, weight management, physical activity etc. across the borough.
