Discovery Land Co. is seeking a Head Mechanic to join the Taymouth Castle property based in the Aberfeldy area, Perthshire Scotland. The ideal candidate will bring extensive professional experience and an adaptable outlook to our fast paced and changing environment. The Head Mechanic will have the opportunity for career development in an exciting, dynamic, and new team. As well as mechanical experience, it would be desirable for applicants to have a clear understanding and appreciation of horticultural, agricultural, and heavy plant machinery, a 5-star service and a flexible approach to work demands of the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a range of vehicles and machines according to the stringent best-practice.
• Understand and maintain the basics mechanics of horticultural, agricultural, and golf machinery.
• Oversee the mechanics workshop and facilities to ensure efficient operations and a high level of service.
• Cleans, organises, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
• Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Maintain the highest possible standards of integrity and diplomacy.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong & diplomatic leadership qualities with proven management
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with a good knowledge of IT systems
• Previous experience in a similar role and/or environment or knowledge of the game of golf and the ability to learn policies, rules and regulations
• Sound working knowledge of basic agronomics and course presentation
• Knowledge of all applicable legislation, regulations, and best practice, including Health and Safety, to ensure compliance
• Full driving licence
• High standard of personal presentation
• Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
• Ability to resolve queries in a practical and positive manner
• Exceptional guest service skills
